MV2

MV2 by Waves is a dual-stage compressor that works both above and below a threshold, letting you tame peaks while lifting quiet details. Unlike a standard compressor, it can compress low-level audio upward, so you can bring out a drum’s room sound without sacrificing punch, or add focus to tracks that were mixed too low without turning everything else down. It excels on vocals, controlling peaks while amplifying quieter parts for a more even, present performance. Acoustic instruments benefit too, with room ambience enhanced while dynamics stay intact. You can also use it as a leveling amplifier for material with widely varying dynamics. With just three controls, MV2 delivers surprisingly musical results and fills a unique gap in any compressor collection. It suits hobby producers looking for a simple, problem-solving tool that makes tracks sound fuller and more polished with minimal effort.
