The Heritage Audio 73 JR Preamp plugin brings the company’s own classic 73-style microphone preamp design into your DAW. Modeled in-house, it captures the all-discrete Class A circuitry and custom Carnhill input and output transformers, delivering the weight, punch, and musical saturation that made the original hardware a studio staple. Up to 80dB of gain in 5dB steps lets you drive the input for grit while separate output gain keeps levels in check. A variable high-pass filter tightens low-end rumble and mud without harming wanted frequencies. The blend screw enables built-in parallel processing, so you can push the preamp hard and mix back the clean signal. It suits producers tracking vocals, DI bass, drums, or adding analog character to any source. Run as many instances as you need to build your own vintage-style mixer sound.
