Taishogoto

Taishogoto by Dream Date Designs is a Kontakt instrument that captures the distinctive sound of the Suzuki Taishogoto, a Japanese stringed instrument. It offers three articulations—Plucked, Struck, and Bowed—each sampled with round-robin variation and recorded using the instrument’s pickup and vintage ribbon microphones. You can use these playing styles individually or layer them together for a rich, hybrid texture. A custom effects section lets you shape the tone, from organic plucks to cinematic swells. The sound sits between familiar and foreign, making it ideal for film scoring, ambient music, and any production needing a unique acoustic flavor. Plucked provides crisp, staccato notes; Struck adds a percussive, mallet-like quality; Bowed delivers smooth, elegant sustain. Whether you’re a composer, producer, or sound designer, Taishogoto offers an inspiring palette for emotive, textured tracks.
