Undertone Audio MPEQ-1 is an EQ and saturation plugin for Windows that combines detailed frequency shaping with independent harmonic coloration for each band. Based on the MPEQ-1 hardware equalizer, it includes variable curve shapes, flexible filters, a broad Q range and Vari-Phase mode for more involved tonal adjustments.

Each EQ band has its own distortion amount and character controls, so you can drive selected frequencies without applying the same treatment across the entire signal. Add edge to upper frequencies while keeping bass clean, or emphasize a snare’s body without roughening its high end. This makes it useful for hobby producers and mix engineers who want corrective EQ and creative coloration in one processor.

You can adjust bands directly on the spectrum display or use the hardware-style controls. The real-time analyzer offers detailed low-frequency visibility, while band solo helps you hear individual adjustments. Version 1.0.3 adds a dedicated band control panel, a compact grid-only view, an adjustable analyzer floor and clearer level metering. A/B comparison, undo/redo and keyboard shortcuts support a practical mixing workflow.
