BA-31

The BA-31 from Antelope Audio is a meticulous emulation of a rare 1960s Germanium transistor preamp, capturing its unmistakably colored, non-transparent character. With 40dB of fixed gain, it excels at adding old-school warmth and grit to ribbon and dynamic microphones, DI’d guitars, or even full group mixes for a tasty 1960s crunch. This isn’t a clean preamp—push it and you’ll get rich harmonic saturation that brings life to drums, bass, and synths. The simple Gain and Output Trim controls make it easy to dial in anything from subtle thickening to full-on vintage drive. It’s ideal for hobby producers seeking authentic retro flavor without the hassle of hardware. Available as a native plugin for Mac and PC, and as a Synergy Core real-time version for compatible Antelope devices, the BA-31 delivers timeless analog attitude in a flexible, modern package.
