The FET-A78 is a stereo compressor and peak limiter plugin that recreates a classic 1980s FET-based hardware unit. It delivers the punchy, analog character heard on countless pop and rock records, using field-effect transistors as voltage-variable resistors for hardcore limiting without distortion. With four ratio modes and extremely slow to super-fast attack and release times, it handles everything from drums, guitars, and vocals to bass and full mixes. Use it in Stereo mode to glue a mix or tame overly dynamic bass lines, and as a bus compressor for backing vocals, overheads, or synth layers. Its intuitive interface and impressive signal-to-noise ratio make it suitable for both subtle and extreme compression. It runs as a native plugin on Mac or PC, or in real time on Synergy Core hardware.
