PsychoPan

PsychoPan is a psychoacoustic stereo imaging plugin that goes far beyond left/right panning, letting you place sounds in a perceived 2D space using an intuitive XY pad. Drag horizontally for advanced phase and time-based positioning, and vertically to control elevation above or below the horizon. A dedicated Zone module adds front-to-back separation through subtle spectral shifts, while the Distance slider simulates depth from close to distant. Built on the HyperSpatial framework with sound designer Pan Athen, it offers tactile control over level, timing and spectral cues that translate reliably across headphones, monitors, TVs and theater systems. Cinesafe guidelines help film and TV workflows, but you can also push past the boundaries for ultra-wide effects.
