Drift is a wind turbulence simulator that brings organic, never-repeating motion to your sound. Based on the Lorenz oscillator—a three-dimensional chaos system used in science to model gas and liquid flow—it generates three correlated outputs that modulate level, pan, and the cutoff of serial one-pole low-pass/high-pass filters. The result is a natural, chaotic yet smooth movement reminiscent of wind gusts or boiling water. Use it to add subtle animation to pads, textures, and ambient beds, or to inject unpredictable life into synth lines and field recordings. It suits hobby producers exploring generative and experimental sound design, especially those working with KORG hardware such as prologue, minilogue xd, NTS-1, NTS-1 mkII, NTS-3, and microKORG2. Studio-grade DSP algorithms, carefully mapped parameters, and built-in lag filters ensure noise-free, ultra-smooth adjustment and stable performance on each device.
