RWND by Thenatan Audio is a dual-engine effect for instant halftime and reverse transitions. Unlike time-stretchers, it uses two varispeed buffer engines with crossfaded read heads for a tape-like character. Hold HALF to drop to half speed, hold REVD to ramp playback from forward through a momentary stop into reverse—exactly like a reel changing direction. Both engines are visible side by side, each with its own trigger, rate, mix, and sync/free toggle. You can hold both for a classic tape-stop-into-rewind fill. Rate controls the ramp time, from a hard 10ms drop to a slow two-second wind-down, tempo-locked or free. Release and it disappears in four milliseconds with no click or tail. It suits electronic and hip-hop producers who want performance-friendly transitions without bouncing or editing clips, and it runs lightly on Mac and Windows.
