Ample China Xun

Ample China Xun brings the ancient Chinese xun, a 7,000-year-old vessel flute, into your DAW with 4.5 GB of meticulously sampled articulations. Performed by Xiaokui Ding of the China National Traditional Orchestra on a Zhuhong Jinlong 9-hole xun, it captures the instrument’s deep, resonant tone using three differently pitched xuns for extended range. The library offers 9 head articulations for attacks and ornaments, plus 13 body articulations for expressive transitions, all recorded with five microphones and three mix modes. An intelligent legato system and Riffer 4—designed for monophonic wind instruments—make phrasing feel natural, while one-click auto expression and vibrato add realism. Ideal for film, game, and world music producers seeking an authentic, evocative solo wind instrument with a contemplative, earthy character.
