MIDIGRiD is a generative MIDI sequencer plugin that helps you create evolving melodic patterns without traditional piano-roll programming. It uses an 8×8 grid where you place Direct Blocks that move in four directions; when a block hits the grid edge, it triggers a note or chord based on your chosen key and scale. Redirect Blocks stay in place and change the direction of colliding Direct Blocks, adding randomness and movement to your sequences. You can control key, scale, sequencer speed, note length, and velocity, and key/scale changes are harmonically informed. MIDIGRiD works with any synth that accepts MIDI input and runs in any DAW as a VST3 or AU plugin on Windows and macOS. It’s aimed at hobby music producers who want to spark new melodic ideas quickly, from simple patterns to complex, dynamic sequences that evolve in real time.
