CARP Audio Body Shifter is a spectral processing effect that reshapes a sound’s frequency balance without changing its pitch. It analyzes the audio in real time and lets you move its tonal body higher or lower in the spectrum. For hobby producers working on mixes or sound design, it offers a way to change the weight of drums, reshape vocal tone, or adjust an instrument’s character.
Two controls handle the main transformation: Scale moves the body’s frequencies proportionally in octaves, while Offset shifts them by a specified amount in Hz. Use either approach to explore where a part’s energy sits in relation to the rest of your arrangement.
Width applies small differences in scaling between the left and right channels to increase stereo separation. Mix blends the altered signal with the dry audio, and Output provides up to 18 dB of gain adjustment in either direction. You can also choose what the spectrum analyzer displays.
Body Shifter v1.1.1 is available as a Windows VST3 plugin for compatible hosts, including FL Studio and Ableton Live.
