Sibalance is a free de-esser and sibilance shaper for vocal recordings. It detects sibilant energy and reduces only the harsh ‘s’, ‘sh’, and high-frequency moments that stick out, instead of applying static high-frequency processing across the whole take. The Edge control adjusts detector focus: lower settings target sibilance strictly, while higher settings also catch harsher voiced material. Delta monitoring lets you hear exactly what is being removed, and the oscilloscope displays incoming and outgoing sibilance layers for visual checking. Use it to smooth bright vocals, tame aggressive consonants, and keep presence while reducing parts that poke out in a mix. Version 1.2.0 adds Live Mode, presets, UI scaling, a Settings panel, and update checks. Manual update checks open your browser; optional automatic checks are off by default and use only minimal version/platform information. No telemetry. It runs as VST3, CLAP, AU, and LV2 on Windows, macOS, and Linux, making it suitable for hobby producers using FL Studio, Ableton, or Logic who want transparent vocal de-essing without flattening the performance.
