WetCompressor is a free VST3 plugin that recreates a classic 76-style FET compressor at the circuit level. Instead of a clean digital algorithm, it models the feedback detector, the gain cell that hits a hard floor at 38 dB of reduction, and the distortion that naturally rises as compression increases. You get two main controls: INPUT drives the signal past a fixed threshold, and OUTPUT restores the level. Three timing modes — FAST, NORMAL and SLOW — set attack and release together, while stepped knobs with 21 detents (0 dB at centre, Shift for 1 dB) make recall easy. Full metering includes stereo peak meters and a gain-reduction strip.
