XS-707 is a free drum rompler built from a TR-707 kit sampled through an EMU EMAX 12-bit sampler. Every drum element was captured across 127 velocity layers, so the Emax’s analog filter responds naturally to your playing instead of snapping between a few static hits. The recordings passed through an analog graphic EQ and a tube preamp to add warmth before being saved as 1905 samples at 24-bit/44.1 kHz. The interface keeps things simple: a low-pass/high-pass filter, a pitch bend knob with ±2 semitone range, and 16 assignable outputs for routing individual drums to separate mixer channels. It ships as both VST2 and VST3 for Windows and macOS (AU included), making it easy to drop into FL Studio, Ableton Live, or Logic Pro. This is aimed at hobby producers who want gritty, characterful 80s drum machine sounds without paying for a sample pack, and it suits house, techno, electro, and lo-fi productions. Note that macOS Catalina users may run into authorization problems.
