Red Rock Sound EQ3 is a six-band equalizer for Windows, aimed at music producers who want broad tonal shaping rather than narrow corrective cuts. Its analog-inspired design builds the frequency response by combining bandpasses, with five overlapping bands covering sub-bass through upper mids and a separate high-frequency boost control for adding air.
Because the bands interact across roughly two octaves, adjustments work best as a balancing process. Raising the airy top end, for example, may call for a small reduction in the upper-mid band to keep the overall tone in check. This makes EQ3 useful for producers who prefer shaping a track by ear instead of chasing individual problem frequencies.
For more detailed routing, EQ3 provides four EQ units in series, allowing different settings for mid, side, stereo or selected multichannel signals. Units can be renamed, soloed, bypassed and copied to speed up setup. There are also 44 channel-layout presets, including 7.1.4 and 9.1.6, plus custom routing across up to 16 independent channels for immersive mixing workflows.
