The EF9 preamp section includes a Baxandall low filter for shaping saturation around 100Hz, plus a high-frequency peaking filter at 10kHz to control treble aggression. Three onboard jumpers—Emphasis Shift, Bass Compensator, and Voltage Sag—let you modify the distortion profile on the fly. The AL4 power pentode and output transformer add final warmth and boldness.
