Markus 88 is a virtual electric piano plugin that recreates the sound of a vintage tine-based stage piano using spectral modeling rather than samples. Every note and velocity was analyzed, then rebuilt harmonic by harmonic by ear, so the 88-key instrument responds smoothly across the keyboard without layer switching. It runs as a standalone application or as VST/AU inside major DAWs on Windows and Mac, and needs no Kontakt, UVI, or other third-party player. The interface includes preamp, reverb, and phaser effects, plus controls for bells, release noises, and non-linear velocity that alters harmonic behavior. Version 1.5 refines the harmonic spectrum, improves low-velocity response and low-frequency inharmonics, redesigns release noises, and fixes gain fluctuations. The whole instrument installs in about 25 MB with no library setup or online activation.
