Ample Sound Ample Slide Lapsteel is a sampled lap steel guitar instrument for producers who want expressive slides, sustained melodies and detailed guitar parts without recording a physical instrument. Its sound comes from a 1970s Jedson lap steel fitted with a single EMG pickup, based on the David Gilmour custom model.
The instrument combines recorded samples with a slide algorithm to handle legato transitions across different distances, intervals and polyphonic passages. Articulations include sustain, natural harmonics, vibrato, glissando and several slide variations, with stereo and mono playback modes available.
For programming parts, the built-in Riffer supports sequences up to 64 measures. Its String Roll Editor lets you adjust individual notes for articulation, velocity, vibrato, bends and legato timing, making it useful for shaping lead lines and more nuanced phrases.
Tone shaping is handled inside the plugin through six amp models, seven cabinets and eight microphone choices per cabinet. An eight-band EQ, compressor, six-tap echo and convolution reverb round out the effects. The Windows version requires a 64-bit system and supports VST2, VST3, AAX and standalone operation.
