BorisFX Sequoia 2026 is a standalone Windows DAW for mastering, audio post-production, broadcast work, and live recording—not a VST effect loaded inside another host. It suits producers moving into detailed album finishing, concert editing, or audio-for-picture projects, as well as engineers handling complex multichannel sessions.
Its object-based workflow lets you split recordings into individual sections, each with its own fades, effects, automation, and routing. This makes it practical to correct a single phrase or shape a passage without applying the same processing across an entire track. The Hybrid Audio Engine manages latency for monitoring and demanding processing tasks, with recording support up to 32-bit float and 384 kHz.
For immersive projects, Sequoia includes an ADM editor, Dolby Atmos rendering, and an FX Routing Matrix for distributing effects across surround and immersive buses. The 2026 update adds GPU-accelerated video playback, native Apple ProRes support, OSC remote control, and Soundly integration for importing effects and Foley. Source/destination editing, multi-codec export, and support for up to 512 inputs round out its recording and delivery tools.
