Puremagnetik Antoka is a sound-design effect that combines bit crushing, foldover resampling, and a crossfader between amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM). It can push audio into rough, heavily degraded textures or add a lighter layer of modulated overtones when you want to preserve more of the original sound.
Inspired by guitar pedals built around ring modulation, envelope following, and distortion, Antoka responds to the level of incoming audio. Its gain detection triggers a bit-crushing envelope as new amplitude changes arrive, allowing the processing to develop over time rather than remain static. An LFO adds another source of movement, while the AM/FM crossfader lets you explore different modulation characters.
Antoka suits hobby producers and sound designers who want to reshape drums, synths, or other recorded material with digital grit and shifting tonal detail. Use it for deliberate audio destruction, animated rhythmic textures, or more restrained coloration. The combination of input-responsive crushing and modulation makes it useful for experimenting with how an effect reacts to a performance.
