GForce Software Oberheim OB-E v2 is an analog-modeling synthesizer built around the Oberheim 8-Voice design. Its eight individual Synthesizer Expander Modules (SEMs) provide eight-note polyphony, with separate voice settings that let producers explore variation between notes rather than applying one identical sound across the keyboard.

Each SEM combines pulse and sawtooth oscillators, two ADS envelopes, an LFO and a multimode filter. An additional VCO3 can also work as an audio-rate LFO, expanding the modulation options. Mono, legato, polyphonic, unison and split modes support different playing styles, while velocity, polyphonic aftertouch and MPE add expressive control.

Version 2 introduces a Vintage control and revised Detune behavior for adjustable analog-style imperfections. Matrix Reverb adds space, and Drum Mode assigns each SEM to a dedicated key for synthesized percussion. More than 700 categorized, tagged factory patches include 10 drum kits, giving hobby producers, composers and sound designers useful starting points. A scalable interface, individual SEM zoom and sequencer zoom make detailed editing easier. Windows support and VST3 availability make OB-E relevant to FL Studio and Ableton Live setups.
