Analog Obsession Chopa v3.0 is a free chopping and vibrato effect for adding movement to synth lines, guitar parts and vocals. It suits hobby producers who want to break a sustained sound into pulses or give a part a gentler, wavering feel without navigating a complicated interface.
Four controls handle the processing. CHOP sets the chop/vibrato time from 10 to 1000 ms, while FADE adjusts the transitions between chopped sections over a 1–500 ms range. Short fades keep the edges more pronounced; longer settings soften the changes. DRY blends the original audio back into the processed signal, helping smooth out the vibrato effect. OUT provides up to 12 dB of gain or attenuation for balancing the result.
Version 3.0 expands the timing ranges and introduces a redesigned interface with touchscreen support, Retina/HiDPI graphics and knob value readouts. Windows users get VST and VST3 formats for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live. Mac versions also include AU for use in Logic Pro.
