Aurora DSP Laboga Mr Hector is a guitar amp simulation built around the Laboga boutique high-gain amplifier. Aimed at guitarists and home producers working on metal and other heavy styles, it combines amp modeling, cabinet impulse responses, pedals and finishing effects in one Windows package.

The signal chain includes a Tube Screamer-style overdrive, a transient shaper for more defined pick attack, and an Aurora preamp pedal for early-stage boosting and dynamic shaping. Two Laboga cabinet models, captured with different speaker and microphone combinations, provide options for shaping the recorded guitar character.

For final adjustments, the effects rack offers a 10-band EQ with ±12 dB of adjustment, a limiter with low-end control, stereo ping-pong delay and reverb. A built-in tuner handles tuning checks, while state recall lets you compare edits across the whole setup or individual sections.

Start with artist presets or open the expanded controls for deeper editing. Available as VST3 and AAX, plus a standalone application, Mr Hector suits recording in FL Studio or Ableton Live on Windows, as well as practicing without opening a DAW.
