Kill The Top (KTT) is a multiband dynamics processor that expands on the classic OTT compressor concept. It splits audio into six frequency bands and applies both upward and downward compression per band, giving you detailed control over the spectrum without touching overall headroom. Upward compression lifts quiet details while downward compression tames peaks, and the Downwards and Upwards knobs adjust the ratios for both processes across all bands. Attack and Release shape the feedback detection circuit: faster settings tighten transients, slower ones introduce pumping. An Analog switch toggles between digital RMS detection and an analog diode/capacitor peak detector for a different response feel. A built-in 12AX7 dual-triode exciter adds harmonic richness band by band, with the Exciter knob controlling the amount. Dry/Wet blends the processed and original signals, and Out Gain sets the final level.
