Aurora DSP Mr Hector is a guitar amp simulation for Windows built around the Laboga Mr. Hector boutique high-gain amplifier. It gives guitarists and home producers an amp, cabinet and effects chain for recording heavy riffs, shaping lead tones or practicing without opening a DAW.

The pedal section includes a Tube Screamer-style overdrive, a transient shaper for emphasizing pick attack and reducing muddiness, and Aurora’s signal-boosting preamp. Cabinet tones come from studio-captured impulse responses of two Laboga cabinets, with different speaker and microphone combinations to explore.

After the amp, a four-part effects rack handles final tone shaping and space. Use the 10-band EQ for adjustments of up to ±12 dB, control peaks with the limiter and its additional low-end limiting option, or add movement and depth with ping-pong delay and reverb.

A main window keeps presets and core controls within easy reach, while expanded sections provide more detailed editing. Mr Hector suits rock and metal players who want a focused high-gain guitar setup, with a standalone application available for practice and preset creation.
