Synapse Audio The Legend HZ is an analog-modeled synthesizer for producers and composers who want cinematic sounds alongside hands-on synthesis. Developed with Hans Zimmer, it extends the original The Legend with six virtual analog oscillators, flexible modulation and a broader effects section. Its circuit-modeled design and 8x oversampled engine focus on recreating the character of analog hardware.
For evolving textures and rhythmic patterns, a modulation matrix, MSEG and 32-step sequencer provide several ways to add movement. Mono, unison and 4-, 8- or 12-voice polyphony modes accommodate both single-note parts and layered chords. A fixed filter bank modeled on Zimmer’s own Vintage 914 hardware adds another option for shaping the sound.
The included 200 factory presets, created by Hans Zimmer and Kevin Schroeder, offer cinematic starting points for hobby producers and experienced sound designers alike. MPE support enables expressive performance control, while NKS support accommodates compatible controllers. This Windows version comes in VST3 and AAX formats, making it suitable for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live.
