APU Software APU Loudness Limiter is a real-time dynamics effect for producers who need to manage perceived loudness and signal peaks together. Aimed at mixing and mastering tasks, it lets you combine LUFS, True Peak, RMS and Peak detection rather than relying on a single measurement. For example, you can work toward a chosen LUFS level while also setting a True Peak limit to control inter-sample overs.

Three LUFS modes offer different perspectives on your audio. Momentary follows a 400 ms window for closer tracking of changing dynamics, while Short-Term uses three seconds to respond to broader level shifts. Integrated measures loudness over time, with relative and absolute gating, to steer overall loudness toward your target.

For more traditional limiting, RMS uses an adjustable averaging window, and Peak responds to sample peaks. True Peak also accounts for peaks between samples, making it useful when preparing a master. Channel linking and splitting provide additional flexibility for multichannel material. This is a practical choice for hobby producers who want loudness-aware control alongside conventional peak limiting.
