Red Rock Sound BQ-A is a four-band EQ plugin for Windows, inspired by the tone-shaping approach of classic British equalizers from the 1970s. It suits hobby producers and mix engineers who prefer selectable frequency points over continuously adjustable controls, whether balancing individual tracks or shaping a stereo mix.

The low shelf offers 50, 80, 100 and 150 Hz settings, while the low-mid bell covers 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz. A second bell band handles 3, 5, 7 and 9 kHz, with a high shelf selectable at 8, 10, 12 or 15 kHz. This layout provides focused options for adjusting bass weight, midrange balance and top-end brightness.

Beyond the four main bands, BQ-A includes three high-pass filters with 18 dB-per-octave slopes and three low-pass filters at 12 dB per octave. Engaging multiple filter switches together creates alternative cutoff curves. Stereo, mid/side and immersive mixing support extend its usefulness beyond conventional channel EQ. Available Windows VST2 and VST3 versions suit compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live.
