Waldorf Music Microwave 1 v1.1.0-BUBBiX

Waldorf Music Microwave 1 is a wavetable synthesizer plugin that recreates the sound and behavior of the original Microwave hardware. It pairs digitally generated waveforms with modeled analogue filtering, giving producers a palette suited to weighty bass lines, sharp attacks, evolving textures and soft pads.

The recreation goes beyond the basic synthesis layout. Waldorf modeled the custom ASIC responsible for the original instrument’s wavetable sound, alongside its Curtis filter circuitry and distinctive controller behavior. The internal synthesis operates at 250 kHz independently of your DAW’s sample rate, and the digital waveforms were checked bit by bit against the hardware originals.

For hobby producers exploring electronic music, Microwave 1 offers a way to work with the character of an early Waldorf synth without owning the rack unit. It is particularly relevant if you enjoy moving wavetable timbres and the contrast between digital oscillators and analogue-style filters. This Windows version supports 64-bit VST2, VST3 and AAX formats, making it suitable for compatible hosts such as FL Studio and Ableton Live.
