SoundGhost Drift is a lo-fi tape effect plugin that adds pitch instability, worn-tape textures and vintage tonal character to digital audio. It suits hobby producers and sound designers who want to give clean recordings a less polished feel, from subtle movement to obvious tape-machine wear.

Adjustable tape controls let you introduce gentle pitch drift and intermittent tape failures, or push the degradation further for a rougher, more damaged sound. This makes Drift useful for adding wavering character to melodies, giving samples an aged texture or taking the pristine edge off a track. Tape start and stop controls also create the falling and rising pitch effects associated with slowing down or starting a tape transport.

For tonal shaping, Drift includes eight EQ profiles modeled on different tape formats and machines, including cassette and VHS. These provide different starting points for the overall tape character. A straightforward interface keeps the focus on adjusting the amount of wear and movement, making it approachable for producers exploring tape-style processing as well as those already building lo-fi arrangements.
