Tonespace

Tonespace by Mucoder is a MIDI chord generator and visualizer for exploring harmony without getting buried in music theory. Its grid-based display reveals relationships between chords, scales and keys, while a piano keyboard view shows how those chords translate to the keys. Move your mouse across the grid to audition ideas, or trigger full chords with single-note MIDI input. With 39 chord types, 25 voicings and inversions, 21 scales and 50 grid layouts, there’s plenty of room to develop progressions and explore unfamiliar harmonic shapes. Automatic chord-generation options help fit your choices to a scale and key. Send the resulting MIDI to your preferred synth to shape the sound, or record the chord output for further editing. Available as a VST, Audio Unit or standalone application, Tonespace suits hobby producers, keyboard learners and anyone looking for a more visual approach to songwriting.
