Gombulator

Gombulator by Fine Cut Bodies brings the character of the Yamaha PSR-15 into a playful Kontakt instrument. Built from carefully captured samples of this rare early-1980s portable synth, it includes the keyboard’s six preset sounds and drum set. Rather than presenting them as a straightforward recreation, Gombulator wraps its vintage material in an unconventional interface that invites exploration: try rotating the moon or clicking on the water. Its roots make it a natural choice for synth-pop sketches, retro-inspired arrangements and tracks that need a touch of old-school keyboard personality. The instrument also has a real synth-pop connection, having featured extensively on Hungarian duo The Gomb’s album on Chi-Recordings. For producers who enjoy sampled vintage instruments and unusual presentation, Gombulator offers a distinctive starting point within Kontakt.
