Outer Space 2

AudioThing Outer Space 2 brings the character of a seventies tape echo into your DAW, pairing three playback heads with a modelled spring reverb. Inspired by the Roland RE-201, it delivers warm repeats, textured ambience and the shifting pitch effects that come from changing tape speed. Choose Original, Modern or Old tape modes to vary frequency response, saturation and wow/flutter, with differences becoming more noticeable as feedback rises. Twelve head-and-reverb combinations cover echo-only patterns, spacious blends and standalone spring sounds, while Dark/Bright and Short/Long settings shape the reverb. Use it to add movement to synths, give guitars a vintage halo or send drums into dub-style feedback trails. For producers who prefer imperfect, animated delays over clean digital repeats, Outer Space 2 offers plenty of character, plus up to 16x oversampling, a resizable interface and a preset randomizer.
