AudioThing Type A is a vintage enhancer plugin that brings presence and air to vocals and other tracks using the classic Dolby A encoding trick. Rather than generating extra harmonics like a conventional exciter, it splits audio into four bands, applies dynamic compression, and blends the processed signal with the dry sound. Quieter details become brighter while louder passages stay largely unchanged, delivering a natural lift to the top end. Individual band levels and adjustable compressor attack and release let you shape the response, while variable unit noise adds control over the vintage character.
