Melt by Cinematique Instruments is a texture-focused instrument for building evolving pads, atmospheric soundscapes and intricate rhythmic layers. Its XY pad blends four sound sources, letting you move smoothly between organs, synths, electric pianos, field recordings and granular textures. Each layer offers nine effects for shaping its character, including filters, distortion, phaser, reverb and delay. Move the cursor while playing to change the balance, record its movement as a loop, or let it wander randomly. An eight-step sequencer for each layer adds motion to sustained notes and opens up polyrhythmic possibilities. Freeze Mode lets you adjust effect parameters across all four layers together, while more than 120 presets provide starting points for exploration. Melt suits hobby producers and sound designers who want expressive ambient beds, cinematic textures or unusual electronic sounds without building every detail from scratch.
