Cassette Toy Piano for Ableton

Cassette Toy Piano for Ableton by THEPHONOLOOP brings the uneven charm of a children’s piano into Live, with five sampled instruments shaped by cassette recording. Two different tape decks provide contrasting textures, from relatively clean warmth to degraded lo-fi character. Alongside the raw piano, variations use treatments such as spring reverb and granular synthesis while preserving its quirky, sometimes eerie personality.

The collection includes 1,112 24-bit WAV samples, three dynamic layers, and an adjustable noise control. Carefully denoised notes help prevent excessive hiss from building up in chords, while separate noise adjustment lets you dial the texture back in. For Ableton users, 55 Instrument Racks with mapped macros and custom Effect Racks offer plenty of starting points. It suits producers seeking nostalgic melodies, offbeat hooks, or unsettling atmospheric parts. Requires the full version of Ableton Live 9.7 or later.
