Modular Add-On: Doepfer A-188-1 BBD

Softube Doepfer A-188-1 BBD brings gritty bucket-brigade delay to Softube Modular, turning clean signals into characterful echoes, swirling modulation and noisy textures. This expansion requires Softube Modular and suits producers who enjoy patching, experimenting and shaping effects with CV control. Use it for tight slapback on guitars, rough-edged drum delays, hazy vocal ambience or chorus and flanging on synth parts. Its capacitor-chain delay character introduces high-frequency loss and noise, with sample-rate reduction and aliasing becoming part of the sound at longer delay times. All six stage counts from the hardware range—128 through 4096—are included and switchable with a click, offering different delay lengths and sonic responses. Push feedback with very short delays to explore Karplus-Strong-style plucked strings, or keep things subtle for warm, imperfect movement.
