Comp VCA-65

Arturia Comp VCA-65 brings the punch and character of the classic DBX 165A compressor into your DAW. Built around TAE modelling, this VCA compressor plugin pairs RMS dynamics detection with the original’s smooth Over Easy knee, helping drums and rhythm tracks feel tighter without losing their musical flow. Push it harder and the Peakstop limiter adds a gritty edge, useful when clean control needs a little attitude. Automatic attack-decay detection makes it approachable for producers who want quick results, while the expanded controls offer room to experiment. The Time Warp function shifts the compression envelope’s timing for more creative dynamic shaping. With vintage-inspired controls up front and modern options tucked into an expandable panel, Comp VCA-65 suits hobby producers seeking anything from controlled percussion to crunchy, hard-hitting drum processing.
