Funky Cat is a funk guitar sound bank for Applied Acoustics Systems Strum GS-2, designed by Niall McCallum of ModeAudio. Its 84 guitar sounds draw on classic funk, pairing clipped, muted attacks and brisk 16th-note riffs with fluid rhythmic chord work. Chorus, spring reverb and wah-wah help shape a palette that moves from vintage character to grooves with a contemporary feel.
Alongside the presets, 12 styles provide 84 strumming patterns for building rhythm parts around your chord progressions. It’s a useful choice for hobby producers looking to add syncopated guitar movement to funk tracks or bring a little old-school bounce to modern productions. The purchase includes the Strum GS-2 preset bank and the free AAS Player plug-in, so you can access the sounds without owning Strum GS-2.
