DRUMBOX: Broken Piano

KLANG DRUMBOX: Broken Piano turns a dismantled piano into an unconventional rhythm instrument. Rather than focusing on familiar piano notes, it draws on percussive recordings made while the KLANG team played, struck, stroked and took apart a piano down to its soundboard. Selected sounds from those sessions are paired with KLANG’s sequencer, bringing an unexpected acoustic character to sample-based beat making. Inspired by vintage drum computers, Broken Piano approaches the instrument as a source of rhythm rather than melody. It suits producers who want to move beyond standard drum sounds, whether building experimental electronic grooves, adding unusual percussion to a track or exploring piano-derived textures. For hobbyists interested in distinctive sampled instruments, it offers a different starting point for rhythmic ideas.
