TAPED: Sonic Wastelands

TAPED: Sonic Wastelands by KLANG is a tape-inspired instrument built around guitar harmonics recorded through an old tape machine, with vintage glockenspiel and a resonant pad adding depth and contrast. Its sound explores the warmth and imperfections of tape, pairing delicate, ringing tones with a lonely, atmospheric character. Rather than aiming for pristine polish, it draws on the nostalgic appeal of saturation, wow and flutter. Use it to sketch haunting melodies, add texture to ambient tracks, or bring a sense of distance to cinematic cues and late-night beats. Sonic Wastelands suits producers and composers who enjoy evocative instrumental layers, weathered timbres and sounds that leave room for space and reflection.
