ShapeShifter

ShapeShifter by Aberrant DSP is a character compressor and dynamics-shaping effect for producers who want more than transparent level control. Combining multiband upward and downward compression, it can bring out quiet details, add weight, or push sounds into gritty, exaggerated territory. Use it to thicken drums, give loops extra attitude, or add subtle movement and colour to restrained parts. A dedicated Transients section offers separate control over downward compression, while the upward compression Floor helps keep room sound and unwanted noise in check. Attack and Release controls shape the response, and Tone adjusts the overall character. For extra saturation, choose between gentle and hard Drive models, then introduce asymmetry for rougher textures. A Dry/Wet mixer makes parallel processing straightforward, and 64 factory presets provide starting points for hobby producers exploring anything from gentle enhancement to aggressive sound design.
