Pattern Strings by Ben Osterhouse turns recorded string phrases into flexible, tempo-synced ostinatos. Built around violin, viola, cello and bass, it includes 19 rhythmic fragments captured at two dynamic layers with four round robins. Drag rhythms into pattern strips and rearrange them to build flowing sequences for cinematic cues, orchestral arrangements or string-driven electronic tracks. Automatic bow direction alternates downbows and upbows according to beat position, adding a natural pulse, while Legato keeps new notes aligned with held notes for connected melodic lines. Half-speed and double-speed playback options help adapt the patterns to your project. Layer instruments or add stereo doubling using pre-rendered combinations, with dynamic loading keeping only the required samples in memory. Custom keyswitches let you recall pattern variations without opening extra instances. It suits producers and composers who want expressive rhythmic strings with hands-on sequencing.
