KaoX

KaoX by XILS Lab is a hybrid synthesizer that combines eight-operator FM synthesis with analog-style oscillators, filters and chaotic sound generators. Its two layers can run individually, together or across a split keyboard, giving you room to build bright keys, warm pads, punchy stereo patches and evolving experimental textures. Each layer’s FM operators are divided into two independently pitched banks, useful for adding chorus-like movement and depth. Analog oscillators and filters bring warmth, while chaotic oscillators and modulators introduce less predictable motion. Two independent arpeggiators, a four-track sequencer and four effects with independent routing help turn patches into animated musical parts. An accessible FM matrix, illuminated active modules and contextual help support detailed programming. KaoX suits hobby producers and curious sound designers who want familiar FM clarity alongside richer, more unusual synthesis possibilities.
