Ancient Greek Winds

Ancient Greek Winds by Soundiron brings nine reconstructed Greek wind instruments into a playable sampled collection. From bass and alto aulos reeds to conch shell horns, brass salpinx, pan flute and plagiaulos, it offers distinctive acoustic colors for historical scores, cinematic cues and atmospheric electronic tracks. The instruments were handcrafted by Athens-based research group Lyravlos using period-appropriate materials and techniques, then recorded by producer John Valasis. Sustains, staccatos, true legato, dynamic expressions and instrument-specific effects help you build expressive melodies rather than static phrases. Round-robin variations and multiple dynamics add detail, while legato controls, simulated portamento, an arpeggiator, sequenced filters, LFOs and modular effects support creative shaping. You also get 20 sound-designed ambiences derived from the recordings. With 3,517 stereo samples at 24-bit/48kHz, this collection suits composers and producers seeking unusual winds, ancient-inspired textures and evocative melodic layers.
