Kalimba 3.0

Soundiron Kalimba 3.0 is a sampled thumb piano instrument library for Kontakt, pairing warm, woody resonance with the crisp pluck of steel tines. Two kalimbas provide distinct tonal ranges, captured in a dry studio, a bright chamber and an underground artillery bunker with close and distant microphones. These contrasting spaces let you move from intimate melodic details to spacious, lingering textures, while release control helps tailor the decay. Up to 11 velocity layers and 10 round-robin variations bring natural movement to repeated notes. Alongside the acoustic instruments, 62 source-derived pads, drones and soundscapes offer atmospheric layers for cinematic cues, ambient tracks and melodic productions. Sound blending, arpeggiation, tuning controls and a broad effects rack invite further experimentation. It suits producers and composers seeking playful percussion, gentle melodic hooks or an organic complement to piano arrangements.
