Tracktion F-em is a hybrid FM synthesizer for producers and sound designers who want to build detailed basses, leads and evolving rhythmic patches. It combines FM, virtual analog and sample-based synthesis in a configurable 11-operator matrix, with eight wave operators, two multisample operators and a noise source. Instead of relying on fixed algorithms, you can explore custom modulation routes between operators.

Four layers, each with four effect slots, let you assemble complex sounds within a single patch. Two multimode filters include overdrive and flexible routing, while operator-specific pitch and level envelopes provide detailed control over movement. Envelopes support up to 32 stages, looping and tempo synchronization for patterns that follow your track.

For deeper programming, F-em offers two editable eight-step Flow LFOs, up to 200 modulation assignments and a modifier matrix. Macros, quick editing controls and an arpeggiator also make it useful for hobby producers who prefer shaping sounds without adjusting every parameter individually.
