FRMS – Granular Synthesizer

FRMS by Imaginando is a hybrid granular synthesizer for turning samples and live audio into richly textured, evolving sounds. Its four-layer architecture combines granular, FM, additive and subtractive synthesis, with each layer acting as a granulator or oscillator. Blend shimmering atmospheres, build dense ambient drones or push everyday recordings into glitchy, mechanical territory. Eight FM modes let the layers interact as operators, opening up further timbral possibilities. Each layer has its own modulation matrix, envelopes and filter, while delay and reverb sends add space and depth. An arpeggiator, four LFOs and MPE support offer plenty of scope for movement and expressive playing. With over 150 factory presets and an included sample bank, FRMS suits hobby producers and adventurous sound designers who want an accessible starting point alongside room to experiment.
