Mountain Dulcimer

The Mountain Dulcimer by Cinematique Instruments captures the warm, organic voice of a traditional three-string Appalachian instrument. Recorded with multiple articulations—finger, piano hammer, plectrum, mallet, and unison—it delivers delicate strumming and a bright, melodic drone. A dedicated strumming engine with adjustable speed and drone option recreates the instrument’s velvety shimmer, while glissando and mod-wheel-triggered tremolo add expressive detail. Ideal for film scoring, Americana, folk, and ambient textures, it brings the intimate character heard in Thomas Newman’s American Beauty to your DAW. With four round robins and multiple velocity layers, every note feels alive. Whether you’re a composer seeking authentic acoustic colors or a producer looking for a unique string layer, this plugin offers a rich, playable palette that sits beautifully in any mix. Perfect for hobbyists and professionals alike.
